The tarot is quite helpful in bringing to light areas of our lives and things that we may not be aware of. When getting a reading please keep in mind that most things are not written in stone and we almost always have a free will and can make choices to bring change to our lives. The cards do not predict the future but can be helpful by providing guidance and pointing out actions that have affected the past, present and future outcome. I believe we can use our free will to make changes for the better in our lives if we have a better understanding of what is going on. I think that getting a reading at times when we feel that we need insight into some areas is not a bad idea but you should not become dependant on anyone to make your decisions.

For people who are interested in developing their own abilities, I have found the tarot cards to be quite enlightening regarding situations in my life and other people as well. I believe that all of us have intuitive abilities but some people may be more tuned in to this ability. One of the first steps in developing your abilities and what has worked for me personally is meditation because it can help to focus your mind which can also help with sharpening your intuition.
